Job purpose: To perform specialized and/or standardized policy and programme-related processes and activities to support the effective delivery of assistance packages. 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (not all-inclusive, nor exhaustive):
Reporting to Programme Policy Officer
  • Perform specialized and/or standardised processes and activities within the specific technical area of work supporting alignment with wider programme policies and guidelines.
  • Provide project management and/or general office support following established targets and WFP’s policies and procedures. 
  • Assist in developing project and context specific monitoring plans that are risk-based and focus on measuring results;
  • Assist in the revision of M&E standards, processes and tools in consultation with relevant technical units;
  • Within the specific area of responsibility, compile data and support analysis and preparation of reports (e.g. food assistance needs, resource utilization, programme status, performance) in order to support operational decision-making.
  • Perform accurate, timely recording of data within the specific technical area of work (e.g. food security and vulnerability assessments) following corporate standards and guidelines. 
  • Work and exchange information with internal counterparts to support effective collaboration, implementation and monitoring of ongoing project activities.
  • Follow standard emergency preparedness practices to ensure WFP is able to quickly respond and deploy needed resources to affected areas at the onset of the crisis.
  • Can facilitate implementation of food assistance programmes under guidance using basic understanding of principles and good practices of programme design, implementation and monitoring.
  • Review and provide comments to new projects and budget revisions during local project review committee meetings (LPRC) as appropriate to ensure that acceptable indicators are selected for the log-frames, that output and outcome, targets are appropriate, and that quality M&E systems are documented in programme documents;
  • Ensure minimum M&E standards and requirements for WFP operations are identified in project documents;
  • Elaborate monthly M&E reports, ensure recommendation matrices if updated regularly.
  • Review partners reports and provide technical feedback to enhance the quality of output and outcome reporting;
  • Support analysis of M&E data and provide feedback for improving results reporting; 
  • Ensure that output and outcome indicators are reviewed periodically and modified based on measurement trends and feedback from CO/RB;
  • Ensure timely COMET updates and LESS/COMET reconciliations
