How to apply for the Ashinaga Africa Initiative Scholarship 2019


Eligibility

The application is open to those who:
  1. Have lost their father, their mother, or both.
  2. Have completed high school and obtained a GCE A Level (technical, technological and vocational A Level are not accepted) after September 1, 2017, 2018, 2019 or will obtain it before February 28, 2020.
  3. Have citizenship and have completed or will complete their secondary education in one of the following countries: Benin, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Comoros, Ivory Coast, Djibouti, Eritrea, Eswatini, Ethiopia, South Africa, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea Conakry, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mauritius, Mauritania, Namibia, Niger, Nigeria, Uganda, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo, Republic of Congo, Rwanda, Senegal, Seychelles , Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Sudan, Tanzania, Chad, Togo, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
  4. Are born after September 1, 1997.
  5. Do not have the fnancial capacity to study at university until a first degree.
  6. Speak fluently French or English.
  7. Are regularly ranked among the top 10 in the class during the last three years of high school.
  8. Can participate in the two preparatory programs of Ashinaga, during the year 2020-2021, before starting their higher education in September 2021.
  9. Are committed to returning home or to sub-Saharan Africa, to contribute actively to African society after graduating.
  10. Do not have any dependents who would interfere with the continuation of their studies.
  11. Are in good health and able to study internationally.

How to apply?

There are three ways to apply for the Ashinaga Initiative for Africa. Please choose one of them and submit all requested documents by the deadline.

NB: We strongly recommend that you apply online.

Online:

Complete the online application form on this link https://www.jotform.com/AshinagaAAI/AAI_2020_Registration and download the documents listed below in PDF or JPEG format.
  1. The copy of the national identity card or passport
  2. Copy of all school reports / transcripts from the last 3 years of high school (last quarter or semester reports, or annual statements)
  3. The copy of the A Level or other qualification of the end of secondary studies, and the transcript of the exam (for graduates of 2017, 2018 and 2019) **
  4. Proof of registration or transcripts, if applicable
  5. The copy of the certificate of death or disappearance of the parent (s), or any other official document
  6. The copy of the candidate's birth certificate

By email

Scan the completed application form and the documents listed below in PDF or JPEG format, then Send the form and your documents in one email to: admissions.fr@ashinaga.org

Fill out the application form and attach the copies (do not send the originals) of the documents listed below, then send the form and your documents to: Ashinaga Senegal, BP 5081, 10700, Fann, Dakar, Senegal.

  2. Copy of all school reports / transcripts from the last 3 years of high school (last quarter or semester reports, or annual statements)
  3. The copy of the A Level or other qualification of the end of secondary studies, and the transcript of the exam (for graduates of 2017, 2018 and 2019) **

  5. The copy of the certificate of death or disappearance of the parent (s), or any other official document
  6. The copy of the candidate's birth certificate
NOTE: All documents must be submitted in English or French. If the documents are not written in any of these 2 languages, the candidate must have them translated by an official body.

DEADLINE: MIDNIGHT (GMT) FRIDAY DECEMBER 13, 2019

** For students who will obtain their results after December 13, 2019 and before February 28, 2020, and if you are retained after the first selection phase, we will ask you to send your certificate of the baccalaureate.

Please note that ONLY those candidates selected for the second selection will be contacted by email.

NOTE: this application and the selection process are FREE. Anyone requesting payment at any stage of the process does so against Ashinaga's wishes, and should not be paid.
