Search for an ICT Specialist 2 at the Red Cross

The delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross for Central Africa in Yaounde is looking for a candidate for the following post : ICT Specialist 2 (For a period of 12 months).

Standard function description

• Manages ICT projects assigned by the ICT Coordinator, document them and ensure that they are delivered in the projected time frame;

• First level Yaounde site responsible for overall activities and performance and second level of Bamenda, Buea, Douala, Kousseri & Maroua site responsible;

• Independently installs, maintains, repairs and monitors ICT equipment in line with ICRC standards;

• Asa part of global support services handles L2 tickets or escalates as per agreed workflow and policies;

• Ensures that the ICT inventory is regularly updated, and stocks levels adapted;

• Ensures that global/country-level ICT policies and procedures are implemented and respected;

• Provides briefing, advises and training to users about ICRC ICT matters;

• Maintains the ICT stock and inventory(is), carries out regular physical checks;

• Makes and keeps technical documentation of all IT installations up to date;

• In the absence of an ICT Specialist 1, carries out all duties of an ICT Specialist 1 as well;

• Ensures that existing ICT infrastructure is functional and carries out regular maintenance;

• Briefs. advises and trains end-users on the ICRC's ICT systems;

• May be called upon to manage and train ICT teams;

• Improves ICT service solutions to answer specific needs.

Minimum required knowledge & experience

• Bachelor's degree or Equivalent higher education in Information Technology, electronics or similar field;

• 4 years' work experience in Network Administration or a similar field;

• As ICT Infrastructures manager and considering the new trend of Cloud computing and virtualization, the following; certifications are required, MTA IT Infrastructure, MCSA Windows Server 2012;

• ICT services management certifications (ITIL, PMP, and Prince) is an asset;

• Experience in telecommunication technologies and installations (PABX, HF, VHF Radio communication, Unified Communication solutions and VSAT solutions). GVF-CRT-SPA certification is an asset;

• Good command of written and spoken English and French; • Capacity to integrate and implement ICRC policies and procedures;

• Confirmed capacity to work independently in a multi-cultural environment;

• Capacity to train and organize work for other ICT Staff;

• Ability to work independently and willingness of self-education in ICT related fields;

• Flexibility to travel outside the country in case of needs;

• Sense of initiative, of confidentiality and tolerance.
