Call for applications for the recruitment of three accounting technicians
and seven senior accounting technicians

In a bid to reinforce its accounting staff, the National Hydrocarbons Corporation is launching a call for applications for the recruitment of three (03) accounting technicians and seven (07) senior accounting technicians, for the head office in Yaoundé, the Douala branch office and the oil and gas sites in Kribi.

POSITION N°.1: ACCOUNTING TECHNICIAN

A- Mission and responsibilities of the position

Mission: The mission of the senior accounting technician will be the implementation and monitoring of accounting operations as well as the production of regulatory accounting documents.

Responsibilities: To secure the accounting component, to produce administrative and financial documents with rigour and reliability, to guarantee the accounting execution of contracts and the
payment of service providers within the deadlines and in accordance with the internal procedures in force.

B- Main activities
  • Keep the accounting books in accordance with the rules of the procedures guide and issue the required statements on a regular basis and at the right time;
  • Carry out the allocations and entries of accounting documents;
  • Verify the entries of accounting documents in accordance with the procedures in force;
  • Archive accounting documents and monitor the reporting of all supporting documents for expenditure made by various structures;
  • Follow payment procedures at all levels, the transmission and integration of supporting documents for expenditure;
  • Analyse the accounts on a weekly basis and identify any adjustments to be submitted to the line manager for approval;
  • Prepare bank reconciliation statements of monitored accounts;
  • Participate in the preparation of all necessary documentation for quarterly, half-yearly or annual examination of accounts;
  • Monitor the purchase of goods and services, their codification, their inventory and follow-up of their proper use;
  • Manage and monitor fixed assets;
  • Prepare payment claims, reimbursements and ensure their follow-up;
  • Prepare various accounting statements;
  • Manage schedules (customers/suppliers);
  • Prepare VAT, Advance Payments, RNC and DIPE statements.
  • Préparer les états de TVA, Acomptes, RNC et DIPE.

C- Requirements for the position
  • Applicants must be aged between 21 and 35 years as at 31 January 2021;
  • Holder of a Higher National Diploma, a Technological University Diploma, a Professional University Diploma, a Higher Professional Diploma in accounting, management, finance or equivalent;
  • Be a holder of a baccalauréat G2 (quantitative techniques management and accounting); CG (accounting and management); SES (economic and social sciences) or a GCE advanced level in Economics;
  • Have a mastery of the techniques and rules of general and analytical accounting;
  • Have a mastery of the main principles of social security charges;
  • Have a minimum of three years’ professional experience in a similar position in a recognised firm or company;
  • Good knowledge of computer tools, mastery of accounting software and knowledge of computerised data management;
  • Bilingualism (french/english) and a good knowledge of taxation will be an asset.

POSITION N°. 2: SENIOR ACCOUNTING TECHNICIAN

A- Mission and responsibilities of the position

Mission:
The mission of the accounting technician will be the implementation and monitoring of accounting operations as well as the production of regulatory accounting documents.

Responsibilities: To secure the accounting component, to produce administrative and financial documents with rigour and reliability, to guarantee the accounting execution of contracts and the
payment of service providers within deadlines and in accordance
with the internal procedures in force.

  • Verify the entries of accounting documents in accordance with the procedures in force;
  • Archive accounting documents and monitor the reporting of all supporting documents for expenditure made by various structures;

  • Monitor cash desk operations;
  • Participate in the preparation of all necessary documentation for quarterly, half-yearly or annual examination of accounts;
  • Monitor the purchase of goods and services, their inventory and follow-up of their proper use;
  • Manage and monitor fixed assets;
  • Prepare payment claims and ensure their follow-up;
  • Apply accounting and financial procedures;
  • Manage schedules (customers/suppliers).

C- Requirements for the position
  • Applicants must be aged between 21 and 35 years as at 31 January 2021;
  • Be a holder of a baccalauréat G2 (Quantitative techniques Management and Accounting) CG (Accounting and Management) SES (Economic and Social Sciences); GCE Advanced level in Economics;
  • Have a mastery of the techniques and rules of general and analytical accounting;
  • Have a mastery of the main principles of social security charges;
  • Good knowledge of computer tools, mastery of accounting software and knowledge of computerised data management;
  • Bilingualism (french/english) will be an asset.
