Job Description

General responsibilities:

· Ensures adherence to NRC policies, manuals and guidelines;

· Implements the activities delegated to him/her in accordance with the action plan;

· Writes activity reports as requested by the supervisor or management;

· Ensures that documents are properly archived;

· Ensures that projects target beneficiaries with the greatest needs and evaluates new and better ways to provide assistance;

· Encourages and advocates for technical improvement;

· Ensures capacity building of project staff and transfer of key competencies;

· Promotes the rights of IDPs/returnees in line with the advocacy strategy;

· Daily supervision of project Assistants.

Specific Responsibilities

· Participates in the implementation of needs identification tools, project monitoring and evaluation tools;

· Contributes to the operational planning of activities and monitors their implementation;

· Designs training modules for local leaders and contributes to the improvement of existing ones;

· Organises training for ICLA teams and relevant partners and beneficiaries (administrative authorities, customary authorities, humanitarian partners; .....);

· Promotes synergy with NRC's other core competencies in order to develop integrated approaches for a holistic response to the needs of beneficiary populations;

· Identifies relevant advocacy issues related to land tenure and legal identity.

· As delegated by the management, participates in meetings, working groups, seminars and training workshops (internal or external) and takes advantage of this to contribute to the capacity building of all NRC staff and partner teams.

Qualifications

· Hold a university degree (Bac + 3) in law or its equivalent;

· 2 years' professional experience as a Project Officer in complex and unstable humanitarian contexts;

· Proven knowledge in the fields of civil registration, rural and urban land management and collaborative conflict management;

· Good knowledge/experience in conducting qualitative/quantitative evaluations and in responding adequately to identified gaps;

· Experience working with the Cameroon administration.

Context-specific skills, knowledge and experience:

· Good knowledge of the context, customs and habits of the North West and South West

· English and Pidgin compulsory

· French is an asset

· Good communication skills

· Team dynamic

· Interpersonal skills

· Good negotiation skills and resource management

We offer

Beginning: February 2021

Fix term Contract of 11 months

Duty Station: Buea with 50% of field travel

Salary and benefits: According to NRC Cameroon Salary grid
