The Denis & Lenora Foretia Foundation seeks to recruit an experienced Accountant to oversee general book keeping and accounting operations. This fulltime position will be based in Yaounde.

Job Responsibilities:

Provides financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data; preparing reports;
Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
Documents financial transactions by entering account information;
Recommends financial actions by analyzing accounting options;
Summarizes current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports;
Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents;
Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures;
Guides accounting clerical staff by coordinating activities and answering questions;
Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information;
Secures financial information by completing database backups;
Maintains financial security by following internal controls;
Prepares payments by verifying documentation, and requesting disbursements;
Answers accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations;
Perform physical verification of Assets at least once per year to ensure that all assets are accurately recorded.
Payroll management;
CNPS & Tax declaration and payment;
Prepares grant financial reports.

Education, and Experience, Licensing Requirements:

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in, accounting, or finance. Or CPA, ACCA
Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in accounting/finance At least 3 years accounting experience (preferably in NGO).
Experience with financial reporting requirements
Experience in working with multiple donors
Well versed in computerized accounting packages
Experience working with non-profits or the private sector;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to lead and motivate a small team would be an advantage
Willingness to re-locate to Yaounde
