ABOUT THE NKAFU POLICY INSTITUTE.

NKAFU POLIICY INSTITUTE is a Think Tank (research center) of the Denis and Lenora FORETIA Foundation. The mission of the Nkafu policy institute is to carry out independent research and provide in-depth and insightful evidence-based policy recommendations that advance the Cameroonian economy and the economies of other sub-Saharan African countries.

ABOUT THE POSITION

With the support of our partners, the Nkafu Policy Institute is very pleased to announce the urgent recruitment of Two (2) Democracy and Governance fellows (scholars, mid-senior level researchers)

to focus full-time on conducting academic research on democratic and governance issues with the aim of providing evidence-based policies that will help us achieve our objective of deepening democratic governance for the promotion of sustainable peace and socio-economic development in Cameroon in particular and Africa at large.

We are particularly interested in the areas of peace, security, job creation, sustainable development especially gender and women empowerment, education, inclusive governance and democracy. Fellows may be appointed on a full time or part time basis.

Expectations

Reporting directly to the Director of the Nkafu Policy Institute(NPI), Democracy & Governance Fellows will be expected to publish at least 10 articles to NPI’s website, organize at least four pro-democracy events and act as moderator, and draft at least two grant proposal to various organizations for projects to promote democracy and inclusionary governance in the country.

Qualifications

Successful candidates will hold Master Degree or advanced degrees, (Ph.D.) in their fields or have demonstrated work experience and scholarly output. The individual must have the competence to pursue cutting-edge work and strong communication skills to influence Democracy and Governance. Strong candidates will be Bilingual or have a working knowledge of both English and French.
