The Opportunity

In this role as an Emergency Response Manager, you will provide the implementation of emergency response program portfolio through strategic leadership in response planning, comprehensive project design and provision of support to Emergency Response team in the Cameroon Country Office so that all program objectives are met and contribute meaningfully to strategic objectives. This will also include strengthening the Country Office’s overall capacity to respond to emergencies in accordance with accepted principles and practices, as well as strategically integrate emergency programming within the overall program approach. The ERM is responsible for the quality and effectiveness of Plan's emergency responses, and overall responsibility for the security and wellbeing of the Emergency response Team. You are accountable for all budgets within the program and has the authority to approve high-level expenditures and international travel, and you will represent Plan International at high level humanitarian and emergency response forums and coordination bodies.

The Individual

In order to succeed in this role you are required to have demonstrable experience in fundraising and coordination, working with UN agencies and with INGOs. Field activity implementation and project management cycle implementation in the humanitarian sector experience is essential. You will also need excellent networking and representation skills in both local and international platforms. In addition, you will need to have an understanding of humanitarian principles and ability to articulate how they have complied and implemented them in the past. You will also need to be a fluent French speaker as this role is based in Cameroon.
