Founded in 1933 at the request of Albert Einstein, the International Rescue Committee (IRC) is one of the largest humanitarian organizations in the world. The IRC assists, provides rehabilitation and provides post-conflict reconstruction support to victims of oppression and violent conflict. Present in more than 40 countries, IRC's mission is to help the people whose lives and livelihoods are affected by conflict and disaster to survive, recover and take charge of their future.
In the face of a growing humanitarian crisis, the IRC is launching emergency programs in the Far North and South West regions of Cameroon. The planned programs include environmental health (EH), Protection and Rule of Law (PROL), Economic Recovery and Development (ERD) and the Women Protection and Empowerment (WPE).

Objectives Of The Position:
The Supply Chain Manager will work under the supervision of the Field Coordinator / DDO and should be a key member of the team able to assist in the continued development of the team. He / she will vouch for the integrity of the supply chain system.
He must be able to respond quickly to programs and operating needs, while ensuring best practices, compliance with standards and procedures while producing quality documentation.
Specific responsibilities include : overseeing the procurement process, warehousing, asset, and transportation management.
Main Responsibilities:
  • Supervision, management, of the supply chain team
  • Organize, structure and train the staff under their responsibility as well as the continuous evaluation of the performance of each member of the team.
  • Ensure that the separation of tasks recommended by IRC is respected.

Supply Chain Activities:
He / she will;
  • Become familiar with the IRC Supply Chain Manual and comply with the rules and procedures set out in the IRC Manual.
  • Ensure that all supplies comply with IRC procedures and rules.
  • Ensure that the performance of the entire supply chain is satisfactory and contributes effectively to the implementation of the program as a whole with a particular focus on impartiality, integrity, speed and quality.
  • Produce and submit on time various required reports with care and quality.
  • Purchases Of Goods and Services:
  • Develop and make available a database on suppliers, target prices, catalogs, technical information; regularly updated to be used for budgetary and ordering purposes.
  • Ensure that purchases of goods and services are made in accordance with IRC procedures, ensuring quality and fair market prices.
  • Movements and Transport:
  • Coordinate movement and allocation of vehicles
  • Scrupulously monitor fuel consumption, quality, reliability and maintenance of vehicles.
  • Ensure that drivers and users of vehicles respect the transportation and movement protocols recommended by IRC.
  • Equipment and Heritage Stock:
  • Ensure that the procedures and documentation for storage and retrieval are scrupulously observed.
  • Monitor equipment with an emphasis on compliance with procedures and documentation.
  • Set up a system for monitoring and maintaining equipment and other elements of IRC's heritage.
  • Others:
  • Promote a team spirit within the supply chain and contribute to having an atmosphere of cooperation, complementarity, mutual assistance of mutual support for all departments and sectors of IRC Cameroon.
  • To carry out all functions responsibly and act professionally at all times.
  • Represent IRC at different levels with partners

  • University degree, in logistics, management, or social sciences or any other equivalent qualification or experience;
  • At least 3 years of experience in a management or similar supervisory position
  • Strong management skills, including developing, evaluating, planning, monitoring budgets and assets.
  • Have a knowledge of the computer tool and software running Word, Excel, PowerPoint….
  • Proven ability to manage, direct, motivate and train staff
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work in an organized and independent manner.
  • Have a very high degree of probity and integrity.
  • Good organizational skills, in communication and interpersonal relations,
  • Good disposition and skills for writing reports.
  • Good knowledge of the South/North West Regions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work and manage a multicultural team
  • Experience working with an International Humanitarian NGO will be an advantage
